First female graduate of the US Naval Academy to fly into space

Wendy served as the mission specialist on Space Shuttle Endeavor mission STS-67 in 1995, the longest space shuttle mission on record at its completion and she hasalso visited the Russian Space Station Mir. She received a bachelor of science degree in ocean engineering from U.S Naval Academy in 1981; a master of science degree in ocean engineering from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution (WHOI) in 1988.
